Pharmacovigilance: What does monitoring medication mean?

Berlin-Chemie Menarini monitors the safety of medication even after it has been launched on the market, from the moment the medication is prescribed by the doctor until it is taken by the patient (and even afterwards).

This monitoring is carried out by means of a vital instrument, namely pharmacovigilance, which deals with the identification, assessment, understanding and prevention of any kind of safety issues that may arise after the use of a medicine.

For all medicines marketed by Menarini worldwide, all possible information about any problem arising from the use of the medicine, identified as a possible adverse event, is collected through safety reports.
These reports can be made by healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, pharmacists) or by the patients themselves.
